Creating our own wiki

In last weeks seminar we had the task of creating a wiki in groups.Our groups wiki waas to be based upon 'Education 5 years from now'. We had to look at the differnt aspects and areas education will change. We had to reseach 'What will classrooms look like', 'How children will learn', 'Who will teach them', and 'what sort of technology will be used'. We found things from Bill Gates, we looked at how apple technology has changed how we learn and how apple is developing with regard to ipods, iphones and ipads and how this is impacting the younger generations and how they develop in the education in environments.

Reading week

Last week we had reading week and were given a number of tasks to be completed. We were given a written task of 600 words on learning styles. It took longer than anticipated to complete as i did not finish it until 12AM this morning!

Nevertheless, it was a well witten piece which i was pleased about. We were also given the task to begin our wikis on education in 5 years time. I also began my 2000 word assaignment for policy and practice but, unfortunately have not completed it!  All in all it was a great week off in which i did complete the majority of my christmas shopping! :)

Reflective learning

In last weeks lesson we looked at reflective learning and what it involves. The diagram above shows many of the things disscussed in our class about the topic. We were also given the task to relate two articles to our bubbl.us brainstorm diagram. "Blog as a reflective tool" explains the effectivness of blogging and the advantages it has to developing our learning, particulary for reflective practice. The philosopher

Kolb (1984) suggested that experience alone does not provide a sufficient learning experience in many situations.

 The second article explains the art of reflection and the importance of reflecting on what you are doing as part of the learning process. As mentioned in our bubbl.us diagram this artcle gives a clear outline as to what is involved in becoming a relfective learner and the importance of reflection in todays society.

Pilkipedia

Last week we were given the task of researching a website and analysing it as a group! we initially chose to to base our presentation on welsh football. However, after much consideration we decided to evaluate the website pilkipedia.
 
We chose this topic because we are big fans of Karl pilkington and the television serious 'An idiot abroad'.
We researched a number of websites linked to this topic and found that pilkipedia was the most relevant! We thought that it was a good website and reliable for information about all the work of rickey gervais, steve merchant and Karl pilkington! Aswell as facts it contained alot humerous Quotes and photos the series and other works.

I thought our presentation went well and thought that we were good embassadors of pilkipedia!

The Basics

It was a late Sepember morning. I knew from the moment i opened my eyes that this day was different! It was the start of the next chapter of my life, University. My name is Luke Morgan and windows 7 was my idea! It was aberdare, born and raised, in the local church is where i spend most of my days, chilling out with mates, believing in God, playing some 6 string, wasting my time on C.O.D! (I dont really like C.O.D! Much prefer Fifa but it fitted in the Song!)

also love sport! I play alot of football and support Liverpool but enjoy most sports :) And thats the Basics ;)
